Company Introduction
KOAI Co., Ltd. is a marine technology company specializing in the development of advanced solutions for rapid and efficient response to marine pollution incidents. Since its establishment, the company has focused on addressing the limitations of conventional manpower-intensive cleanup methods by developing practical, science-based equipment and systems that enhance the speed, safety, and effectiveness of oil spill and marine debris recovery.
From the early stages of technology development, KOAI has pursued a global strategy by conducting international Proof of Concept (PoC) projects to validate the performance and applicability of its technologies in diverse marine environments and port operations. These activities have enabled the company to strengthen its technological competitiveness while building a solid foundation for global market expansion.
Through continuous research and innovation, KOAI has obtained the NET (New Excellent Technology) Certification and designation as an Innovative Product by the Korean government, demonstrating the reliability and excellence of its technologies. The company is actively collaborating with public institutions on demonstration projects and has established a strategic partnership with Hyundai Corporation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to accelerate its entry into the global marine pollution response market.
Building on its expertise in marine pollution response, KOAI is now advancing next-generation technologies that integrate on-device AI, autonomous navigation, real-time object recognition, and multi-robot swarm control. By developing intelligent autonomous surface drone platforms capable of coordinated operations, the company aims to provide faster, safer, and more efficient marine pollution response systems while contributing to the protection of the global marine environment.

Main Products & Services
The On-Device AI-Based Marine Cleanup Robot is an AI-powered autonomous surface robot designed to detect, analyze, and collect marine pollutants such as floating debris and oil spills in real time. Unlike conventional cleanup operations that rely heavily on manpower and vessels, this system utilizes on-device AI to perform real-time object recognition and autonomous decision-making directly on the device without depending on network connectivity, enabling rapid response in challenging marine environments.
Equipped with multiple sensors including cameras, LiDAR, IMU, and GPS, the robot continuously monitors its surroundings, accurately identifies marine debris, oil spills, and obstacles, and autonomously generates optimal navigation routes. It can travel to designated locations, collect pollutants, and return to its home position after completing its mission. Since AI processing is performed locally, the robot maintains stable operation even in areas with limited or unstable communication, making it suitable for ports, coastal waters, rivers, lakes, and other marine environments.
The platform also supports multi-robot swarm operation and integrated fleet management, allowing multiple robots to efficiently cover large operational areas. Through a centralized control platform, operators can monitor each robot's location, navigation status, detection results, and mission progress in real time. By combining intelligent autonomous navigation with AI-based environmental perception, the system significantly reduces response time, improves cleanup efficiency, and minimizes dependence on human intervention.
The robot is continuously being validated through field demonstrations in various marine environments while its AI object recognition and autonomous navigation technologies are further enhanced. In the future, the platform will expand beyond marine pollution response to applications such as coastal surveillance, infrastructure inspection, and marine safety management, contributing to a smarter and more sustainable marine environment.
